Harold Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill hospital. Dr Schoenhaus' research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. Moreover, Dr Schoenhaus is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems, an online medical education and networking resource dedicated to improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals throughout the world. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery. Dr Schoenhaus has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. In 2015 Dr Schoenhaus was the recipient of the Gallery of Success Award from Temple University.

Lee C Rogers, DPM, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He helped the ABPM found the Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care in 2017. He is a Fellow Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr Rogers has authored over 150 peer reviewed manuscripts or book chapters and focuses on creating systems of excellence for diabetic foot care and limb salvage.

Thomas E Serena, MD, FACS, FACHM, MAPWCA, CEO and Medical Director of The SerenaGroup, a family of the wound, hyperbaric and research companies, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The College of William and Mary and Penn State Medical School. He completed his residency in Surgery at The Milton S Hershey Medical Center with an additional year of training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Southern Illinois University. To date, he has opened and operates wound care centers across the United States and globally. Dr Serena has been the lead or Principal investigator in over 100 clinical trials, including gene therapy for critical limb ischemia, antimicrobial dressings, growth factors, topical and parenteral antibiotics, and CTP therapy. He founded the first wound healing cooperative research group that produced more than 12 manuscripts in 2016 alone. In 2011 he developed a diagnostic technique that now bears his name (The Serena Technique). He holds numerous patents on wound care devices and dressings. He is recognized internationally as an expert in the field of wound healing: He has more than 200 published papers and has given more than 1000 invited lectures throughout the world. He has published three medical textbooks and authored numerous book chapters. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Wound Healing Society and served two terms on the board of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and is now the President. He has also been Vice-President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine and President of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

After graduating from Utah State University, Charles Andersen, MD, FACS, FSVS, MAPWCA, earned his medical degree at the University of Utah where he also completed an internship and a one year of Surgical Training. He then entered the military where he completed his surgical residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and a Vascular Surgery fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He remained in the military where his positions included program director in General Surgery and Chief of the Department of Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center for 20 years. After retirement from the Army, he remained at Madigan Army Medical Center as a Civilian Physician. He has spoken nationally and internationally on Vascular Surgery, Limb Preservation, and Wound Care. He has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Currently, he is Chief of the Vascular/Endovascular/Limb Preservation Service and Medical Director of the Wound Care Clinic at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma Washington. He is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.

Ryan Chatelain, DPM, CWSP, is an attending physician and Associate Professor of Surgery at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN. He also serves as the Director of Wound Care/Limb Salvage at the Center for Comprehensive Wound Care at Johnson City Medical Center. Dr Chatelain received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University in North Miami, FL. He completed his residency at Mountain Home VA in Johnson City, TN which included a year of advanced training at Foot & Leg Specialists in Atlanta. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a Wound Care Specialist Physician certified by the American Board of Wound Healing, and a CWSP through the American Board of Wound Management. Dr Chatelain serves as the Director of the Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention forum at Johnson City Medical Center in an effort to promote an evidence-based approach to limb salvage at the hospital. Dr Chatelain resides in Johnson City, TN with his wife and three sons.

Windy Cole, DPM, CWSP, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) is a native Ohioan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Cincinnati where she graduated summa cum laude. She is also an honor graduate from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Cole has practiced in Northeast Ohio for over 22 years. She is an adjunct professor and Director of Wound Care Research at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Wound Management. She has been a dedicated wound care advocate for two decades with interests focused on medical education, diabetic foot care, wound care, limb salvage, & clinical research. Her passion to help others has led her participate in humanitarian efforts including a medical mission to Jordan in 2018 to aid the large Syrian refugee population seeking asylum from civil war. Dr. Cole has published numerous peer-reviewed and industry articles on these topics and is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally. She is a feature writer for Podiatry Management and Today’s Wound Clinic as well as a contributing writer for Podiatry Today. She is an Editorial Board member of Wound Management and Prevention, Podiatry Today, The Foot Journal, Wound Masterclass, Podiatry Management and Lower Extremity Review. She is also the Podiatry Section Editor for the ePlasty Journal and a Guest Editor for Foot and Ankle Quarterly. She is a wound care advocate on the forefront of wound research and was the 2020 World Union of Wound Healing Silver Medal Award recipient for her work in Technology-driven Research and the 2022 recipient of the Kaplan-Kanat Memorial Lecture Award. Dr. Cole is a member of the ACCWS BOD. Additionally, she sits on the advisory board of multiple emerging biotech companies and has been integral in collaborating on innovative research protocols in the space.

Kara S. Couch, MS, CRNP, CWCN-AP, CHWS, graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from Georgetown University in 2002. Currently she works as an NP in the Wound Healing and Limb Preservation Center at George Washington University Hospital. In 2018, Kara became the Director of Inpatient Wound Care at George Washington University Hospital. She is an Associate Research Professor of Surgery at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at George Washington University. Her primary wound interests are in amputee care, wound infection and venous ulcers. Ms Couch is the current nurse board member of the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders and the Secretary of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC). She is an editorial board member of Wound Management and Prevention, Today’s Wound Clinic and WoundSource 2020. Kara is the liaison for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners to the Alliance. In 2017, she was voted onto the Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee of the Amputee Coalition. She became Chair in 2019.

Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

She now works with a private practice Infectious Disease group in Memphis, TN doing outpatient PT woundcare. This multidisciplinary opportunity has helped train her to follow reimbursement. Colin Traynor, DPM graduated from The Pennsylvania State University and received his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from The California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University. He then completed his surgical residency at St Mary’s Medical Center. Dr Traynor is trained in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, elective surgery and wound care. Dr Traynor is a clinical instructor for The California School of Podiatric Medicine and clerkship director of the St Mary’s Podiatric Surgery Residency Program. Dr Wahab holds multiple medical director positions in the Las Vegas area including Wound Care Medical Director of HCA Mountainview Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center and the Dignity Hospitals Inpatient Wound care medical director. She is a board member of AAWC and is also a physician board member of ACCWS.

Marie Williams, DPM, DABPS, DHLS, is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr Williams was the first clinical dean at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently an Adjunct Professor for the school. Dr Williams has been in private practice since 1984. She is currently the Chairman of the Department of Podiatry at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. She has been involved in residency training since 1986 and a Program Director in Podiatric Surgery and Medicine since 1988. Dr Williams is a speaker in the field of foot and ankle surgery as well as limb salvage. She has published several articles on the healing of complex wounds and limb salvage, while also authoring a chapter: Bone Infections in "Foot and Ankle Radiology". In August 2014, Dr Williams was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts along with her teammates from Immaculata College. Their team, the Mighty Macs, captured three consecutive Championships. They were considered trailblazers for women sports, and in the 70s they help bring about Title 9 and equality for women in sports. In June 2015 they received the trailblazer award in the women’s basketball hall of fame. Dr Williams was recently requested to be a Keynote Speaker for Immaculata University and received the Doctor of Humane Letters for her humanitarian efforts in May 2018.

Stephanie Wu, DPM, MSc, is the Dean of Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Professor, Department of Podiatric Surgery and Applied Biomechanics, Professor, Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, and Director, Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) for Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Dr Wu devotes significant time to CLEAR’s fellowship program, international fellowship program, and Scholl’s Masters in wound healing program which is an international collaboration with Cardiff University. For her efforts in education, Dr. Wu has received many awards at Rosalind Franklin University including the Dean’s Award and the Lawrence R. Medoff Award for Outstanding Performance in Research, Teaching, and Clinical Practice. Dr Wu led the effort in helping secure podiatry’s first NIH T-35 training grant for the training of future podiatric researchers at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. In addition to her clinical and university duties Dr Wu is a highly sought after lecturer at national and international forums.
